Dylan Newton

Take a look into the future.

Dylan Newton was born in Beaumont, Texas, in 1995. Having grown up around a father that builds guitars and enjoys tinkering, his love for building and creativity grew. Dylan became fascinated with portrait photography while attending Lamar University's college of business to earn his B.B.A. in marketing when his father gave him a 35mm film camera for Christmas. Additionally, Dylan saw the movies Ghost in the Shell and Bladerunner in his philosophy class and became enamored by their neon aesthetics and philosophical ideas of transhumanism in a dystopian society. After completing his degree, Dylan delved deeper into his photographic practice and his fascination for cyberpunk. He began building futuristic props and masks to make his subjects look as if they existed in the grim dystopian future and used the bustling city streets of Houston, Dallas, Austin, and New York City as his backdrop. His photos often portray a balance between allure and a sense of danger that symbolizes the stylistic glamour of the future while retaining its darker themes. Dylan regularly writes short stories to build his own world in a cyberpunk future and give each of the characters he photographs their own story in the universe. Dylan currently works as a digital production designer for a marketing agency in Austin, Texas. In June 2022, Dylan's art was shown in the Superchief CYBERPUNK Volume 4 gallery in New York City and displayed on the Shibuya Crossing billboards in Tokyo, Japan.
